Used 2004 BMW 330CI Purchase - Is BMW's poor post warranty reputation deserved? - mechanical breakdown protection
I'm considering buying a used 2003-2004 BMW 330CI. This is the manufacturer or the past or to cross (I'm looking around $ 23k starting price makes me about 45-50k miles). If I buy CPO for further 2 years, 50k miles warranty sales price goes to $ 30k.
I believe that the car for at least 4 years, I will still go on the extended warranty CPO. BMW has a reputation for expensive repairs vulnerable deserves? In an attempt to save an amount of $ 7k, is not that the comprehensive extended warranty? Its protection against mechanical failure, and third viable option?

The possibility that something goes wrong engine or transmission on a BMW is low. However, if they fail, they are corrected very costly.
The motors are about $ 4000, $ 2500 Tranmer about. If you are new, you can at least double. And this does not include $ 100 per hour of work, visit the bank to pay for BMW.
Not just the big things either connect electrical problems with these cars. Payment of $ 100 per hour, save a short pursuit to not funny. Free fix basically anything that will cost between $ 100 and a Chevy $ 200 for the BMW would. Oh, and you have, how the changes are controlled much oil? Like it.
The cars are very nice. But there are reasons that are extended warranties is much higher than other cars.
Personally, I do not drive a BMW out of warranty.
