Battery Operated Blanket Insane Battery?

Insane battery? - battery operated blanket

Ok, so I sat on the bed, and found that the battery of my alarm clock broken cell
Then I went back to the battery again, and when I touched it, it was incredibly hot, like hot hand badly burned
the clock seemed to be OK, though a little hot, I think the battery ... I took the battery in a blanket and looked
appeared slightly enlarged, but not significantly, because the logo was a wrapper around it a little more ...
I myself have never been the alarm after year and I've had a battery must be so before what could be the cause, and explode or something crazy like?
haha

Typically, a hot, it is due to overload, short circuit or something. If the clock is another battery and works without overheating of the battery is certainly not in any way. It is possible that short-internally, but it is very rare. The heat generated by the gas that caused the case to the package.
