Mechanic Broke My Muffler Broke Off, And Apparently The Mechanic Said There Is A Slit In The Retractor.?

My Muffler broke off, and apparently the mechanic said there is a slit in the Retractor.? - mechanic broke

He said it would replace about $ 200 for the welding costs and $ 800 for the entire system. What do you suggest? I thought Meineke, is probably much cheaper there?
